Desalination
Desalination is the process of removing salts, minerals and contaminants from seawater and wastewater effluent.
Desalination is becoming a common method to obtain freshwater for human consumption and domestic/industrial utilization.
Market Needs
After the water is passed through the reverse osmosis process, it has a higher proportion of carbon dioxide than normal, lowering its pH value (increased acidity). The decreased pH needs to be adjusted to prevent corrosion of the pipelines.
Solutions
Hydrated Lime
- A pH adjusting agent to prevent pipeline corrosion caused by acidic water
- Remineralize water
