Event to Commemorate International Forest Day: Firebreak and Check Dam Activities at Ban Tam Nampu Community Forest, Moo 10, Tubkwang, Kangkoi, Saraburi
On 21 March 2024, Chememan PLC, the Office of Natural Resources and Environment of Saraburi, and the Ban Tam Nampu Community Forest Committee, organized the event to commemorate the ‘International Forest Day.’ The event included the ‘Firebreak and Check Dam’ within the Ban Tam Nampu Community Forest in Moo 10, Tubkwang subdistrict, Kangkoi Saraburi. The Check Dam used followed His Majesty the late King Rama 9 Initiative and Design in slowing down the natural flow of water to keep them for usage. This basic engineering principle has not only provided the community with enough water, but it also refreshes the ecological system, by requiring only easy and available local resources such as branches and stones to slow down the natural water flow.
