On 30 August 2023, Chememan PLC aimed at providing ‘additional income’ to communities nearby our factory by organizing the ‘Bean Paste Preserved Bamboo’ cooking class. Mr. Suthep Cheaplaem, the Head of Forest Research and Development 6, Royal Forest Department, and team of experts led the training class. The class provided all the trainees with knowledge of required processes in making bean paste preserved bamboo, and putting them into bottle packaging. The class focuses on how to maintain and extend the food shelf life of bamboo. This was one of the way to use the local products within the community forest, and put them into effective food processing. This bean paste preserved bamboo is already considered one of the local valued products. The cooking class took place at the Baan Nampu Cave Community Forest in Moo 10, Tubkwang subdistrict, Kangkoi Saraburi. In addition, within the event, there was also the corner to provide knowledge about food production for sale and the process of obtaining food-selling license from Ajarn Thananya Kunchaetong, the expert from Tubkwang Research Station of Kasetsart University. The activity was a part of the CMAN DMAN’s ‘plant forest, build kitchen’ concept, which aimed at creating jobs, providing food sources, and promoting local communities learning within Tubkwang subdistrict, Kangkoi, Saraburi. After the class, participants together planted the ‘Bamboo’ within the Baan Nampu Cave Community Forest. In the near future, all the planted bamboo will become one of the key food sources for the community.
